As I was saying. I have never balanced one,Caterpillar does not balance if you follow the manuals. I have done probably 25 turbos all still in operation and 4 are 250# full boost turbos off marine engines which now have 5000 hours on them[5000 hrs x 50mph = 250,000 miles,no wastegate full boost all the time] so there.
the really important thing is to clean it really well with dentist picks or the like because if you don't scrape all the crap out[most of it will look just like the cast iron housing] it will fail again.
Also mark the sections with a punch as they can go together in an infinite number of ways and angles.[don't use a marker as you will wash the marks away when you clean it]
