The point is that it's not the headgasket itself, but the corrosion of the 2.1l's cylinder head that is the problem. In '91-'93 non-turbo's, the coolant began corroding the engine while it was still in the factory. The head was in trouble regardless of temperature. If the head wasn't repaired properly & milled, then a new gasket will fail due to vibration even if you run cool. That said, the '92 is a lovely car.
