i got in a bad highway accident on saturday. i was driving along in the right lane and a car was slowly passing me on the left on a two lane (each way) divided highway. a car pulls out right in front of us from a side road and cuts directly across into the passing lane. The car next to me slams on his brakes but it is too late and rams into my left side in attmept to avoid the car and then spins out and off the road. meanwhile i too shoot off the right side of the road over the embankment at 60+ mph and clip a couple of small trees and signs with the rear right quarter panel. My front left tire was sheared right off on impact with the other car and my front right tire blew out on the curb. I was able to accelerate and pull the car back onto the road before hitting the large trees and the start of a guard rail but not being able to control the car driving on rims launched right across into the small median before swerving back and finally stopping in the right side break-down lane. luckily there was little traffic so no one else was involved. the car that cut us off stops and the diver gets out, looks around and then drives off! luckily a witness knew the lady and gave the police her name. still waiting to here back from them. the worst part is that my car may be totalled having owned it for only just over six months! luckily i got out without a scratch, only a little glass dust in my hair. Goes to show you how safe these cars are!

damage: both doors were jammed shut, the rear right passenger window ripped out entirely, the front left inner and outer fender completely crumpled, as well as the side of the hood. the driver side door was also banged in and the rear right quarter panel busted in badly including part of the roof and the rear bumper was slightly ripped out of place as well. Three of the four wheels are scrapped up badly. this is from what ws can tell so far, as for the engine we think it is okay but the suspension we don't know. very very sad. most likely their insurance will cover it but i still won't get what its worth and if its not totalled, which seems very unlikely, it will never be the same.

Anyway, we are still waiting to hear back from the insurance companies, but i could be looking for a new '90 SPG in the near furture. It was a very nice black '90 SPG with 107K miles.
