Question about throttle vibration.

Recently, the throttle cable was snapped and replaced by the mechanic I trust. The new cable is not genuine Saab and the end attached to the throttle bracket is white plastic -- but I know the quality of part is irrelevant b/c I had this feeling before the cable snapped. The new cable is firmly attached and there is no movement when I move the linkage with fingers. I have cleaned the linkage (w/WD-40) and applied grease (molly-lithium grease). The linkage moves smoothly. However, while driving, I feel funny high pitch vibration on my foot at 2800-3200 rpm. It's like coming from electric massager (though very subtle), and happens on flat, smooth road surface, regardless accelerating, deccelerating, or coasting. I have looked inside the throttle and the only moving component ("choke plate"?) moves smoothly. I have cleaned this plate with cab cleaner, but the vibration persists. I'm not aware of anything wrong on engine mount, suspension, etc., except one torn upper ball joint boot (driver side) and a little play on the CV joint (passenger side). Your expertise advice/opinion would be appreciated. ('93, 900S, 79K).
