Yes, Vermont SAABs kick much ass. Subaru makes a fine car, too and you'll see a lot of them up there because of their durabiliy and fantastic perormance in the snow. I will be returning to my Green Mountains soon!
Onto the center lug....I just replaced the inner driver and tripod bearing on my '89 900S. To begin this endevor, I went to a gas station and had them break the center lug. I noticed on the way home a slight grinding sound coming from the wheel after this as I drove the 5 blocks back home (slowly!). Having reassembled the axle, ball joints and brake caliper, I drove the car from the garage I was using to my house (3 blocks, slowly) and noticed the noise again. My question is two-fold:
I read on a site that once you break the center lug you should replace it with a new one. True or false? I plan to head back to the gas station tomorrow morning and have them tighten it with their gun. Will this fix that nasty noise?
As always, thanks!
Phil
