I own both an 85SPG three-door and a five-door 88 9k. The four doors help out a lot, but with the seats down the 900 holds more. It may be just mine, but the 9k seat doesn't fold down as neatly, and the back board won't come out. On the other hand, the 9k backseat is split, so it is a little more versatile, and it is wider, considerably so. But the 900 has tons of space, the back board comes out and the seat folds down flatter. However, the 900 slopes more and has less room at the back, the 9k is a bit more squared off.
The final answer... I would go with the 900, unless you have boxier loads that would be hurt by the the tapered end or unless you would gain a good advantage with the 4 doors.
