Dan,
The pump and/or fluid hoses may just be clogged, or pump may have burned out. If lines are clogged, you remove them from the nozzles and blow air into them from the washer nozzle ends of the lines and see if you can backflush them. When doing so, air should flow freely into the lines and you should hear bubbling from the reservoir, indicating lines are clear.

I had to backflush my Mom's '90 900 lines like that because the plastic washer fluid screen (just under the lid in the reservoir) had disintegrated and dropped down into the fluid, causing a clog in the lines.

If that doesn't help, undo the bolt holding the reservoir bracket to the inner fender and carefully lift up the reservoir. You can't really lift it all the way out until you disconnect the washer pump electrical plug (and washer fluid line length may be a limiting factor, too).

Have someone operate washer switch--don't forget to flip the wipers up so they won't scratch the dry glass--while you check for voltage at the pump with a test light or voltmeter. If there's no voltage, then your problem is not the pump. Check fuses and then you'll have to check the washer stalk lever (switch)--which is a bit more involved and I haven't done that one yet.

I do know that my Mom's 1990 900 doesn't make a really good connection at the switch--I have to pull the lever toward me and wiggle it to get pump to operate.

If there is voltage to the pump wiring plug, and no amount of backflushing the lines helps, then the pump is probably gone bad. Sponsors on TSN sell 'em. Once, in a pinch, I used a universal washer pump (available at Wal-Mart & NAPA) and it plugged right into the SAAB pump elec. plug! It didn't fit into the reservoir recess, of course, so I used bailing wire to strap it to the reservoir. It worked great, but it wasn't SAAB spec., so I hunted up a junkyard replacement very cheaply.

Also, I have seen some faulty check valves leak--I don't think this applies to yours, from your info--and they leaked so much through their little holes that no fluid would come out the washer nozzles.
