No need for drilling... Posted by IrieTom [Email] (#1032) [Profile/Gallery] (more from IrieTom) on Mon, 1 Apr 2002 13:51:15 In Reply to: Do you use a drill to remove them >>>>, SS, Mon, 1 Apr 2002 12:42:29 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
In my experience (early/mid-80's hatchbacks), the driver's seat is held down by two hex bolts in the front. I use a 3/8" ratchet handle with a ?mm (6mm maybe?) hex bit, but an allen key will suffice. Unplug the heater wiring, and lift the rear "T"-shaped seat rail mounts out of the bodywork. The lifting is much easier to do with the seat folded forward.
The passenger seat has the same hex bolts in front, and two ?mm (10mm?) nuts (with washers) in back- I use a wrench for the back ones because there isn't enough clearance for a socket. Stick your head underneath the seats and look around- it's very straightforward.
