I got this from David Prantl, it is probably correct as he got it from an EPC. The last 3 digits of the Bosch number are 564. If you are looking for a replacement box (many do for '89 models as they are flakey for some reason), these are the replacements. Also, any turbo box will work from '89-93, but may not get the same mileage as a NA box. They have been reported to work fine.
Yours is a 1989 900 non-turbo 2.0 box
SAAB 7 48 71 35
SAAB reman 88 26 026
Bosch 0 280 000 564
You might have success with the following:
1988 900 non-turbo 2.0 box
SAAB 7 53 86 89
SAAB reman 88 26 018
Bosch 0 280 000 536
(Cars with this box had the older aluminum-colored-nozzle -711 injectors,
and distributor-mounted crank-position sensor EZK, but it should work in
your '89 without problems.)
1990 900 non-turbo 2.0 box
SAAB 9 11 94 47
SAAB reman 88 26 034
Bosch 0 280 000 ???
(All EZK and other LH components in a 1990 car are the same as those in your 1989. This would be the best replacement box.)
Verify the above using the wiring schematics in the Bentley.
thanks, David!
