Consider Pirelli P400

Tires are like religion around here, but a number of people have recommended these T rated Pirellis. I just put a new set on this morning. Ride seems about the same as my old Michelins. Little better steering response, probably because they're new. Properly rotated and aligned, they're rumored to last 40k+.
I got all 4 for $217 shipped from Tire Rack. Discount Tire installed them for free for me. With lifetime balancing and the optional road hazard insurance, I was out the door for a total of $303. Now for the alignment...
FYI, I also strongly considered the Yokohama Avid T4. My mechanic recommended Toyos but I had trouble finding them. Dunlops get mixed reviews around here. Michelin is a good tire, but in my opinion, not good enough to warrant the markup. My car is the '89 version of the 900S. I see very little reason to go with an H or higher rated tire. The factory spec is 87T, and I'm sure that's what they came from the factory with. An H or higher rated tire will give you confidence driving 120mph, which your S won't do anyhow, and it will also generally wear out quicker.
Like I said, it's a religion.
