I've used Valvoline Syntech through 3 changes (about 80,000 miles) and not experienced your problem. There was some confusion in an earlier post, but it is DOT 3/4, not DOT 5.
My experience: I have found it difficult to bleed the clutch each time. I've tried vacuum (mighty vac) and using pressure at the reservoir. Neither method resulted in apparent bleeding of air, but the pedal still acted as if there was air in the system. Once I gave up for the night to find the pedal working correctly in the morning! The other two times it corrected, but not really sure what I did. However, after getting it bled and working, I've never had a problem between changes. I've assumed it was just air somewhere in the system, but now thinking it may be the fluid.
