Just went thru this on my 87T.
Oddly, hoses from fender mounted vac. unit were good up thru & under the fuse box control center, but my lines in the cabin and above footpedals were totally shot!
Vacuum actuator was good to the chain. All these items can be tested whole/individually with the MI-T-Vac. You either have one of these or need one :0).
If your unit is leaking underdash, you must remove the knee bolster (that is the long trim piece which goes from side to side under the dash. If you have a center counsel, it must also come out. I found to sanely work upside down up there you must remove the seat to avoid Dr. BreakumBack.
To quick check, look above drivers side wheel, just front of fuse box. On both my 900's there is a junction connector there. Just seperate and test vacuum in each direction with the Mi-T-Vac.
Good luck.
