I didn't have a puller that would fit, so I went the the tried and true method, a fairly large screwdriver under opposing sides, dist clamped in a vice, and applied steady, even pressure. Obviously, this was after removing the snap ring and cleaning the shaft. I'd heard horror stories about this, but it was relatively easy (on the Sab fix scale). Not near as bad as getting the car back to my garage. Ignition died 50 miles from home, the first time any Saab has left me stranded
