First thought is the following:
Is it possible that the control between the heater control and the heater valve has become disconnected?
Have you installed a radio recently, or has anything happened behind your dash?
Is your heater control super-duper easy to rotate?
If you want to look, you can remove the left speaker grille/defroster vent plate. There are two screws, and the plate tilts out. You will need a bent wire hanger or a bent piece of wire or something to reattach the ventilation duct to the vent on the panel when you put it back together.
You will find the heater control rod by turning your heater control. If this is connected to the fitting on the valve, then I would guess that you have a shot heater core, though I can't honestly say at the moment if constant heat is a failure mode of the valve. I just don't know. I do know that if the control on the facia is not connected to the valve, you will have constant heat, cause you aren't affecting the valve when you turn the control.
good luck,
Rolf
