Hey Randy. As far as Saab breakdowns go, you're lucky with it in front of your house.
I remember you posting regarding battery size. Was this for the ragtop? Do you know how old the SPG batt. is? I've had a battery decide spontaneously it was toast. Happened while running perfect before running into a store and five minutes later no start.
Typically moisture affects the coil to dist. cap wire - and that mainly means the idle would lope a bunch. No start may indeed by as RS states - check the ground strap from alt. to a/c bracket (even after you get the car running to see if it's arcing) and the other alt wires. Also check for corrosion at the batt. terminals or a cracked/crumbly positive cable.
