No biggie, Bill. I don't think they're making them much any more, because if people are interested in super heavy bass, they go for subwoofers and external amps.
The 3-way JVC 6x9" speakers I got sound great. I have the fader biased toward the rear (nobody would want to ride in the back seat when I have the stereo on!) so that I get a balanced sound in the front, with equal volume front to back. With it balanced that way, I still get most of the bass punch from behind, and hear the higher frequencies more from the front. The midrange and vocals seem to surround me, with a good balance between front and rear. The rear speakers are actually playing much louder than the front, so I'm glad I got new ones back there that will handle the power.
I should have done this upgrade a couple of years ago. I realize now what I've been missing.
