shoot for the cone filter though, much greater gains, and only a little more money. I have a stock engine 2.1 L 91 "s" and i replaced a dirty filter with a new cone right on the end of the airflow sensor, the boot of my cone slipped right over the sensor. Keep in mind you have to un clip the sensor from the top part of the air box. My cone just rests in the botom part of the air box now, I think it sheilds it well from any puddle splashing and serious road dirt. I was going to route it to the cavity between the bumper and frame, real low for cold air intake. I figured it was just asking for problems though.
anyways the cone did wonders for the car, the engine seems much more on top of things. I dont have to dip nearly as far into the throttle for normal driving and when the car is feeling spirited, ok well when im feeling spirited, its much faster. Mostly via a noticible power boost 4000- redline.
keep in mind my filter was really dirty, maybe a cone isnt impressive from a clean filter.
good luck.
