Don't expect to get it off in 10 minutes. Don't cut the wires until you are absolutely ready to work on it and can afford to have the car out of commission for an indeterminate period.
Take your time, and prep it the night before. I find that if I spray the sensor with WD40 or some other penetrant a few times throughout the night, then come at it in the morning with a *six* point 22mm deep socket (a 12 point stripped it once) and a breaker bar with extension, it has come right off.
One of my most useful tools is a two foot length of steel pipe. I put that on the end of the breaker bar and really give it a pull. This amount of torque usually makes it come off.
Once this didn't work at all, so I got a propane torch, heated the area around the sensor to be very hot, then used the socket/breaker bar/extension and it came off.
This is one of those jobs that are really no fun at all, so spending the $75 an hour at a SAAB dealer might be worth it (I hate to say). They'll usually put your part in for you if you have it.
