Mysteriously, I only had 6 bad wires. One was the yellow wire going to the starter. All went to one of the two square connectors. I used approx 25 feet of each size. I bought some butt splice connectors that have shrinkable plastic over them. I also bought some black circular plastic stuff used for power amp wires, etc. to replace the original big black shrink I had to remove. I spliced most wires at the connector and inside the car, near the ecu. Splicing inside the car protects the splices from water so I used the cheaper nonshrink butt splices at that end.
I believe two of the bad wires were not used so I removed them. I guess they went to an extra sensor on the block between intake runners 1 and 2 that wasn't connected, but not sure.
