This was kinda neat, actually I have been putting off r&r'ing a failed voltage regulator in my 86 900T recently, concerned over what else I may find to get myself involved in....anyway, I was having good luck with my technique of JUST trying to swing the alternator towards the fender, so i could wiggle my screwdriver into the inner retaining screw, when I decided I might as well pull the alt out completely for an inspect - theoretically the bushings had been replaced a few years ago, before me, and as I am deciding just how much of a beeyotch the "wiggle and jiggle" method of getting the pivot bolt out was gonna be, lo and behold - SOME WONDERFUL MECHANIC HAD ALREADY THOUGHTFULLY DRILLED A PERFECT SIZED HOLE IN THE FIREWALL so I had absolutely no problem in extracting said bolt.

Wow! Thanx to the previous owner's mechanic..(she never worked on car herself) just a nice thing to find...
