Actually, I tested everything and it all more-or-less checked out. The wiring harnesses from 85-86 Saabs have a tendency to break-down--especially in high-heat areas. I had foot long lenghts of leads that had no insulation, bare-wires exposed to each other and to the the frame. Most of it was in the engine compartment, but I also had some problems in my dash as well. Aside from shorting out, the wiring harness had built up a lot of resistance, and that meant that signals had a tendancy to either get lost or become distorted on their way to or back from the ECU. One example of this was that after I installed some new injectors my ECU was unable to compensate for the shorter injector spurts that I needed, and my engine bogged down terribley. I've yet to retry them, but I am relatively confidant that they will work much better this time.
