Interesting spec...I've tightened all my saabs since 84 to 63-65 ft-lbs, used antiseize on the studs, and never had one come loose. Same spec as on the volvos w/lug nuts.
Note that if you use a lubricant you get higher clamping forces, so 77-94 ft-lbs gives you approximately 30% more clamping force than dry....I'm wondering if you haven't stretched the studs every time you tighten them (although that usually breaks them because you're torquing beyond yield and they won't torque up...)....check the studs for necking?
Lastly, maybe your torque wrench is nackered.
