Accelerator pedal. You have to duck in front of the lower air duct so try to give yourself as much slack as possible. I had to cut one or two wires because they were getting fouled on things. Of course once I freed them up, I reconnected the cut wires with butt connectors. I took the wires underneath the carpeting then cut a hole in the back of the Console box, and in the adjacent carpet to pass the wires through - not necessary as you can stuff the wires in over the edge of the console, but it provides a cleaner installation.
Obviously, having the center console box out, or unmounted/loose, makes the whole routing process a lot easier. Once you get all the wires straight, and the Left Front Speaker plate removed, you'll begin to see how to route it.
I just did this a month ago on my 1988 900TC, with a new Blaupunkt Heidelberg. Email me if you run into problems.
