i am at my wits end. i have had an idle problem for 3-4 months and it is driving me crazy. my normal mechanic could not cure the problem, so i took it to the jim ellis saab in roswell georgia. i have a 1990 900 turbo spg. it only acts up in the morning or at cold start. it revs up high and then low 5-10 times before it settles down. i went to pickup the car this morning from the dealer(only because they state the car was running fine) and the problem persisted. they are having a difficult time finding the cure. they first started out by saying it was the turbo bypass valve, and the turbo hose. well i replaced with a forge turbo bypass valve and a new hose, and the idle problem still persist. next, they sent off to saab to have them re-program my chip(i assume this is the engine management chip,i think they said ecu or ecm chip) and the problem still persisted. on thursday, i was driving and the car was bucking, and jerking and i thought it was going to tear up at highway speeds. i had never felt that before, so that was a new problem. here is a list of equipment i have on the car:

1. k/n filter,24 lb bosch injectors,3.0 bosch fuel pressure regulator, stage 2 apc box,new aic, new air mass meter, new coolant sensor.i see people on the board have alot more equipment than i do on their cars, and i do not think it is due to any high performance mods i have, because dealer would have advised me, i guess.

2. jim ellis states all hoses are tight, with no leaks.dealer seems to be frustrated just as much as i am. dealer states car is performing to their specs, but they can not locate the problem. huh,how can it perform to specs, and is not running right?

3. 120k mile service was done on time, and i now have 138k on it. oil changed every 2500-3000 miles.

4. i would like to keep this car, but pretty soon i must give up if i can not locate the problem......i need a solution to helping me find this problem. one of the sales persons heard the problem this morning and stated that it must be something electrical. please help before i get rid of this beautiful auto that attracts alot of attention. talledega red spg.they are trying to get me to trade so that they may steal my car as a trade in on a 9000 aero, but i am hoping someone out there can help me. please put your thinking caps on and let me know.

thanks everyone !!!!
