unless you do all of this rather quickly.
With the age of all these cars, & all the discussions I've seen about corrosion, I'd do this with at least some anti-freeze in there. It's got corrosion inhibitors which you need during this process.
Unless you use de-aerated water, you might be surprised how little time it takes to corrode the coolant passages in the block, head, & radiator.
Other than that, this suggestion makes sense. The price of a bit of antifreeze seems worth it. You can use way less than 50/50 since you're not going to leave it in there for long.
BTW, use the bleeder valve on the thermostat housing also. If there's that much oil, its probably floating in there, too.
