if you're sure its leaking from the cap, then the leak is in the --- cap! Even if the hoses are bad, they won't make the cap leak.
The cap has two little valves in it. One opens if the pressure gets too high, one opens under vacuum. Either one can get crud on the seals, which look like little rubber washers. Dig out the big rubber seal which seals against the top of the reservoir, then the center part of the cap comes out. Clean the little valves (without scratching them), maybe with Q-tips. Then put it all back together.
Or... you could buy a new cap.
BTW, I once had a cracked reservoir, so make sure that's not it. I guess I had overtightened the mounting bolt.
