I used a 5/8-11 threaded rod, 3 nuts & a washer, and a cup type oil filter wrnech to press into the housing, instead of tapping with a hammer. I fed the threaded rod through the clutch shaft opening, with a nut & large washer on the inner portion, and double nuts on the outside. I used the oil filter wrench against the face of the seal, and as I tightened the double nuts, it drew the seal in evenly, then drew the clutch shaft seal in. I would prefer to use something other than the oil filter wrench, as it has a thin wall. Maybe a block of hard wood with the a 3-1/2" hole, so the seal will stop when it is flush with the engine housing. There is no shoulder on the engine housing, so if you keep pushing the seal, it keeps going in.
