Two main "groups" they fall into: solid and capped/stamped. The former costs $40-50ea. The latter last half as long, and, surprise, cost half as much. Now, if you're replacing your own balljoints by yourself it's not such a big deal perhaps, since if you've the time your labor is free, right? But if you're a Saab shop, you stand to make more money in the long run (increased frequency of replacement) while making the customer think he's saving him some money on parts. [sense the anger? local shop here does this for a living....]
Anyway, the OEM supplier is TRW - but note, they make BOTH types of BJ's, solid and capped, so you MUST state exactly what you want.
Oh, last thing. It may be that your car's BJ's are indeed different ages, and also not the uppers and lower BJ's have little bit diff life expectancies; i.e. may just be a string of bad luck on your part even with the better solid BJ's. If you want to be aggressive about it, you could prophylactically replace the remaining BJ's next time you have one fail. Good luck,
