New intercooler pipes and hooter valve story...........

While replacing the bypass valve yesterday I found a small hole in the pipe that runs from the turbo to the intercooler. Don't you just love when you're fixing one problem and find another?
Anyway...wondering who sells new/upgraded pipes. I thought that SPG9 did but I can't find them on their site. I could probably just fix the hole with JB weld but...why not upgrade a bit?
BTW....doing the bypass valve on a car with an automatic trans is a big PIA. The dipstick/fill tube is positioned just so as to really restrict getting the pipe out that the valve is on. I had to undo both sides of the rubber boot that attaches to the turbo itself and holds the bypass valve and pull the bypass valve out of the boot...then do some touchy twisting to get that pipe out. Then reach down and finagle the bypass valve out and then the boot. This of course is after removing all the other ductwork. As if there was the need for another reason not to have an automatic trans!
Getting it back together wasn't much better. The best peice of advice is to leave all hose clamps a little slack so you can position everything back in correctly. The good thing is I was able to zip tie the vac line to the bypass valve fitting. Ever try replacing that line while the valve is in the car? Jeez. But...No more Coke bottle sounds...and nothing blew off when I got on the highway!
So....about those intercooler pipes?
Thanks
Todd
