If you can't remove that allen bolt/screw it's about your only option. In any case, the allen screw has to be removed to back out the piston(s) when you replace the rear pads, so you'll have to remove the calipers then. Might as well do it now and avoid the rush.
But that's still a big iff you can't get the screw out. PBlaster might work, so might a torch to loosen it up (but if you get it too hot there go the seals and you still have to replace the caliper...I wouldn't use a torch on it myself...). Drilling it out/EZ out or extractor..maybe. Your choice.
I've had some luck with hammer-driven impact wrenches...the hand-held kind that you preload in the direction you want to go (righty tighty lefty loosey!) and then whack the end of the wrench with a 2lb sledge. It either loosens the bolt or tears out the bit from the wrench. Was useful many moons ago on my Triumph motorcycle don't ask.
