The normally aspirated (non-turbo) engine is the 2.1l, which no matter what anybody else says, isn't as good as the 2.0. They suffered head/head gasket and cylinder problems. Yes, maybe you can change the coolant more often or run Yak urine or other magic to extend the life, but the 2.1 just isn't as good, in my opinion.
Second, the turbo has nothing to do with being a speed demon. You can drive way too fast in a non-turbo just as well as in a turbo - the difference is how fast you get to fast. The turbo has more power, and I find driving a more powerful car is easier and more enjoyable than a less powerful car. You don't need to do burnouts or max throttle acceleration - it just feels better to drive a more powerful car.
And there are times when more power is very useful - when merging, when you need to execute a pass, when you need to get past someone so the whacko coming up behind you doesn't punt you into the weeds.
Be patient, and keep your eyes out for a turbo.
