Taillights + License lights out! Did I miss something?

My car:
1989 900S, 2-door, 5-spd
Symptom(s):
With the lights on, my taillights and rear license plate lights are OUT. Dunza. All other lights check out fine. Checked 10a fuses 18 and 19, but they're fine. Checked plugs on both lights, checked both rear bulbs and the filaments are intact.
Here's what's freaky: The brake lights still work (though I know they're on different fuses) and the symptoms are indicative of fuses 18 and 19 being blown (um... that is they should be broken!).
Checked the "Bad Taillight Ground FAQ" and I'm not sure this applies, since my 900s is s 2-door. I pulled the rear-driver hatch liner and couldn't find any frayed/cut cables or disconnected harness. Did I miss something?
The problem doesn't make sense because before I "mothballed" my baby for the salty Ohio winter, all systems checked OK.
I checked my Bentley's manual, but I couldn't find a fix for the symptoms other than to check the fuses. Again, did I overlook something?
If any of you can help, I would greatly appreciate it! If you have the time, please feel free to email any suggestions to "buster3069@hotmail.com".
Thanks!
Barry
