Sorry to continue this from last week, but my server has been down.
I have been given two solutions for my problem and I need more advice.
Problem:
Cold start issue with 85 SPG. Morning starting cranks but won't start for 5-10 cranks if not more. Tach needle bounces, I hear fuel pump. When warm starts on first crank.
I have these new parts: Starter, fuel filter, cap, rotor, wires and plugs.
I have swithched these parts off an 88t: ignition amp,NTC and AMM.
The two theories were headgasket or something else(NTC etc.)
I do not have an ohm meter to check NTC, but with it plugged in the car idled at 1000 without idled at 1500. Does this mean it is good?
The reason I thought HG was there are some white stains around Turbo, I saw bubbles in expansion tank. I read on the board that could mean HG. Anders said doesn't always mean HG. I do not see white smoke out the back, notice loss of coolant or see a mixing of oil in coolant or viseversa.
I have an appt. with the dealer on Friday but I would like some advise before he charges $700 for a new HG.
Thanks for any suggestions and taking time to read this,
Kevin
