make sure your new seal has not lost the spring that surrounds the sealing lip and be careful that the spring stays put when you position the seal. Several years ago, I installed a seal that was missing the spring(or i knocked it off). the leak of course was worse! So I had the pleasure of pulling the clutch and putting another seal in. the plywood press that burlyb described is the way to go.
