Update On Emergency Sunroof Handcrank

A little update...
Interestingly, I was told by a Saab master mechanic that the emergency sunroof crank costed about $300 or more...for a stupid little metal crank. He said that he, himself, was shocked they charged that much for such a tiny tool. So, after figuring out (thanks to you) where the sunroof motor was, I decided to forge my own handcrank. I tried various tools at first, with no luck; considering how difficult it was to fit any tool between the motor and the body of the car without stripping the delicate mechanism. So I found a piece of steel, formed it into an S-shaped crank (with a hammer and a large vice), and used a power drill with a metal bit on the end to carve out an opening (in the end) that would fit over and grab onto the metal crank attachment on the end of the motor. It took me quite a while to accomplish this feat. Cranking the motor didn't move the sunroof, but it loosened it so that I could close the sunroof by hand, which works for me. Now I have a manual sunroof instead of an electric one. :)
