ignition module again!?

Well, the 87 900 died again. Wife was driving down the road and it sputtered and died- last time it did this was a couple of years ago, and it was the ignition module. Symptoms seem to be the same (no spark, no tach bounce while cranking)- the bentley tests are frustrating- does anybody know the pin numbering system on the EZK plug? As far as I can tell, volts are getting to where they need to go.

Only other thing that points to ignition module is when the key is turned on, there's no voltage across the coil (pins 15 and 1)- bentley says it should rise to 5 or 6 volts, and then drop.

Do these modules really fail that often?
