do the thermostat change 1st
townsendimports.com has lots of info on proceedures in 'cooling system'
temperature gauge should read just below 1/2 while crusing at 40-50 mph, no ac on, with new 82C thermostat.
see what happens with new t-stat, and air purge
Bentley repair manual very informative and needed for home repairs.
--------- orig reply ---------------
1) t-stat, 82C, purge air
gage should be 40% cruising, no ac, no fans. if not, bad rad likely.
2) pull relay, substitute with 16Ga jumper from slot 30 to 87.
3) fan switch top of rad, driver side. 85C 3-pin (use + and #1)
4) exp tank cap
purge air, test fans by shorting wires together (both on key on).
parts cheap from sobstory.com or eeuroparts.com
