in all likelyhood, you need to replace the anti-rattle pad that sits in the valve cover directly above your timing chain. It's inexpensive and all you have to do is remove your valve cover and slide it in under the positioning ears in the cover. You should consider a new set of valve cover gaskets at the same time.
If that doesn't fix it, you may have a stretched timing chain, whose replacement may be beyond what you want to do. When you have the cover off, you can check the condition of the chain and see if the marks on the cam sprockets line up properly when the engine is at TDC(top dead center).
You also could have sticking cam followers(valve lifters). If you take a big screw driver and put the handle to your ear and place the tip along the valve cover you should be able to locate the noise. My hunch is that you will hear the noise loudest back near the firewall coming from the chain slapping against the valve cover. If the noise is forward, it's probably coming from the lifters. A job for the shop.
Since this car is new to you, the first thing i would do is give Jim Moncrief a call at sobstory (one of the site sponsors). Order a Bentley manual, the timing chain pad and the valve cover gasket set
