Yesterday I went looking for a '93 900 Turbo 3 doors. Blue with black leather, 130k km (80k miles), asking about 2100 USD. Owner saied it's an AERO, but I saw no badges on it. 175 hp. 15' 3 spokes rims.
I have no experience on 900, but I have a 9k and the 9000 board is a grat resource to me, so I'm looking for some advices here. The car needs some minor works: the headliner has to be rebuilt, the hood is straight but does not sits well (about 1cm between front left corner and headlight), one front blinker cracked, Pirelli P 6000 at 50%, that thing to check gearbox oil level lost (I don't know its english name!). Both bumpers are a bit bent ("parking with such a long car is impossible!" saied the owner)
The driver's seat backrest is stuck: is comes forth to allow access to rear seat, but if you rotate the knob at the base od the seat the back rest it doesn't move.
Other things that didn't conveinced me: power windows switches working different ways (the driver's one is to be pushed in the front to lower the window (just like my 9k), the passenger one is the opposite).
I could not make the turbo gauge needle over the half of the gauge, and the boost seemed poor, if I compared it to my '87 9000T.
Drive was very smooth, and steering was a dream: very sharp, almost perfect.
The car has two keys: one for the driver's door, and the other for all the rest of the car.
The spring that holds the gear lever the center pos (between 3rd and 4th) is missing (how hard is it to put on?)
The owner bought car from dealer one year and half ago at about 7500USD, spent 1800USD for a tranny rebulding and now he's selling, don't really know why.
Has anybody installed LPG on this car? and a LPG tank in the spare tire place?
Is it a lemon, as I think, or is my friend missing a good car? or should I sell my '87 9000 T and buy this 900?
Thanks everybody
Stefano (Italy)
