The gear box oil I drained out was VERY thick black and nasty, plus it smelled! I know it had only 15k from the last drain, but it still needed to be changed.
There were a ton of shavings on the plug. But I am sure that was cause when I got the car it had the original clutch with 250,000 miles on it! Then when I changed the temp. oil there were a lot less shavings on the plug, so that made me fell a little better.
