3000 miles is recommended. unplug apc and leave it as is. make sure base boost is set to 5.5-6.5. may even up it to 7 or so for break in just so it's not a dog. but don't wail on it until that point. my preference for oil changes is after 1st 500, 1000, 2000, then 3000 and every 3000 miles after that. go with dyno or semisynthetic oil to begin with, then change to full synthetic at 3000 miles and stay with it from then on.
hope this helps. fwiw, i'm about to start the breakin process all over again. right after i had the engine running nice and strong...:(
