Beginning in '89 the upshift light function was moved completely into the ECU. Prior to '89 there was a vacuum switch involved...
'89 ECU is able to shut off the AC at wide-open throttle. Maybe you can find some wires to jumper to make your AC work?
One other difference, starting in '89 the Hall sensor (n/a engines) was moved to the front crankshaft pulley. Apparently that is compatible.
Roo, I thought you said you put a '88 ECU in there?
