I'm not looking at your engine right now, and since I don't know the various years, makes, models and their engine component systems all that well, I've no idea what fuel delivery system you have. Checking the connections along the entire fuel system under the hood is a good idea. With engine running and reved a few times might reveal something. If you have the white/yellow plastic fuel lines which connect to each fuel injector, they're known to develop hairline cracks where the plastic meets the metal fitting. The gas will seep out along those cracks. Not enough for drips to develop, but enough to smell it evaporating. I too had the gas fume syndrome for a long time until I identified it along the plastic lines.
