The mirror and it's back plate are held on with a plastic cog. Look into the space under the mirror, between the mirror bottom and the inside bottom of the mirror housing. You'll see part of a slotted white thing. Use a small screwdriver fitted into a slot and turn it right or left. It sticks, so put some muscle into it. Once loose, the mirror and back will just fall out (but held on by the wiring). Reglue with double stick tape or 3M super trim adhesive (great stuff b.t.w.) and refit with by fitting the cog into the mirror housing and turning the slotted part from underneath again. For reference, mirrors (glass and housing) can be had on ebay for $20.
