Especially in a turbo car where there is some backpressure built up in the manifold. BUT! a dirty fuel injector will cause a cylinder to run lean(and real hot) and lead to manifold cracking. Brazing would be very temporary as the exhaust can get hot enough to melt the braze. They can be welded though! Go to a professional though, not someone who has a welder in the garage(like me). Welding cast is tricky, best when pre and post welding heat is applied, and special filler material is required. Seems to me I paid $35 about 4 years ago for the same thing. Still not as good as finding a good one in the salvage yard. Is it a "B" motor (internal water pump) or "H" (external pump)? "B" motor manifolds with the diafram type boost control are hard to find.
