Thanks to both of you!! And yes, i thought those dots were paint marks, which is what i think added to the confusion.
As the time was getting late (thus the desperation i was going thru) i marked the side that is closest to the headlights (NOT the firewall side), as i didn't have time to start researching how to remove the A/C belt.
Will this still be ok? Of course, i started the car a few times and didn't get the squeal (as it's intermittent), so i'll just have to "close up shop" and go home, then come back to my parent's house in a few weeks where i keep my jack stands as they have a garage/driveway that i can work in (apartment living doesn't allow for "leisurely repair work").
Thanks again for the assistance, and if you know if marking the non-firewall side of the pulley is "ok" and will still show the slippage if evident, please let me know.
