I don't mean to stir up a hornet's nest, but here's my 2 cents:
The SAAB slogan in the ad campaign of the early '80s said the SAAB 900 was the "most intelligent car ever built." If Justin started the racing dialog with the Bimmer driver before he saw the cop in the intersection, then his actions seem totally justifiable--by me, that is. I wouldn't have sped knowingly into a 50/50 chance of getting pulled over (or 100% chc. if cop called backup!).
However, if Justin saw the police car and then started the whole ball rolling about the race, then he was being a bit tricky, to put it lightly.
I must reiterate that the above is only my opinion. Take it or leave it.
