Yep... the ignition amplifier was only used on a couple years to literally amplify the tach signal coming from the ignition module. Apparently Saab was concerned that the signal would degrade to uselessness when providing to the APC, ECU, and tach all at once. It was later removed - in '88 I think. Bottom line - the signal coming from the ignition amp is the same signal that comes from the ignition control unit.
What are you turboing? Or is it a 745i?
