Turbo Problems?

Half way to work this morning my '85 SPG started to feel like it was out of gas (the tank is full). I let of the gas, engaged the clutch, and the car died. I restarted, put it in forth gear(I was coasting at about 50mph) and gave it some gas and the hesitation/stuttering/feeling like it was out of gas continued. I finally figured out that it was doing this each time the needle in the turbo gauge got to the edge of the white zone. Prior to all this happening the needle would go to the edge of the yellow/Orange zone (the gauge in mine goes white/yellow/orange). If I accelerate enough to push the needle to the edge of the while and yellow, the needle will stay at this spot (will not go into the yellow) and the hesitation/stuttering/out of gas feeling starts. It seems as if the APC thinks there's bad gas and is shutting down the fuel whenever I begin to build turbo pressure. I only use the high octane stuff so this has me confused. In any event the thing limps along, any thoughts as to what I should look at? Thanks.
