I was trekking down the I-5 today in my fully loaded down 87 900S with two bikes on top, and I come in to traffic. I slow down, and start creeping along with the traffic, when, after about 5 stop and go's, the brakes pedal suddenly stops working. It worked the brakes a little when first pressed, but then it had no resistance. I used the handbrake to stop the car until I got through LA, then back up to freeway speeds (please no lectures on the obvious danger of driving 70 mph with no brakes) once back up to highway speeds, after the brakes hadn't been used for a while, they were back to normal, that is until I started using them frequently again. Soon I had no brakes once again. Now it is important that I state two things, first, the fluid level in the reservior did not drop over my entire 5hr drive, second, the pedal did not feel "spongy" it was silky smooth as ever, it just held no pressure. So I'm thinking maybe i have an air bubble that's expanding when the fluid heats up? Does that sound right? If so, can I just bleed the brakes and be done with this ordeal? Pease say yes! Thanks!
